Sweet and spicy

Here in the UK, not only is this week (12-18 October) National Chocolate Week, but it is also National Curry Week – what a great week for foodies like myself!

With various articles circulating listing the top facts about either curry or chocolate, and lots of ideas for meals or even days out to celebrate each of them, I wanted to track down something that combined the two celebrations into one – and just like that, I stumbled upon chocolate curry.

In addition to some experimental recipes available online, supermarket Iceland also sells a chocolate chicken curry for those less adventurous in the kitchen. Further digging flagged up another chocolate/curry fusion in the form of Not On The High Street’s Curry And Chips Milk Chocolate Bar, which is flavoured with a mild madras.

Given the popularity of chilli chocolate, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that chocolate and curry have been combined. However, having asked my colleagues their thoughts on chocolate curry, the jury is out on this one.

Personally, I think I might stick with a curry for my main and chocolate for dessert this week.
