Health on show
It’s just a quick one from me this week as I’m currently making my way around Health Ingredients Europe.
The biennial event for the nutrition and wellness industries has returned to Frankfurt, Germany where an array of supplements, nutraceuticals and solutions for functional food and beverages are on show for the next three days.
The quest for sugar, salt and fat reduction continues so reformulation is high on the agenda, and trends such as free from, organic and sports nutrition are out in force. Ingredients wise, microalgae is getting a lot of attention and favourites like protein and omega-3 fatty acids are clearly still in favour. Tomorrow I’ll be hearing Innova Market Insights’ top food and beverage trends, including the increasing use of plants in new product marketing.
