I'll drink to that!

Took a trip to sunny Southwold this week to meet Andy Wood, the chief executive of Adnams Sole Bay Brewery, and hear all about the company’s new anaerobic digester, its carbon neutral beer and a whole host of other impressive environmental initiatives, all of which I’ll be writing about in next month’s issue. But equally impressive and apparent is the dedication of the brewery’s staff to come up with their own green initiatives. “Our staff are incredibly supportive and, in a recent survey, 90 per cent declared that they were ‘very proud’ to work for us,” says Andy.

What a great accolade for the biggest employer in an otherwise quiet seaside town, and an achievement which should rank every bit as highly as their environmental initiatives.
