Straight up...

Date: 03/09/2010

Returned from summer hols this week – a glorious 10 days in Tuscany. Far too much wine quaffed, pizza scoffed and over-enthusiastic warbling of annoyingly catchy, dodgy holiday songs. (Check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yr_N-sRbIk8&feature=youtube_gdata_player and you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about). Did a bit of sightseeing too, and single-handedly managed to straighten Pisa’s famous leaning tower – as you’ll see from my photo. (Who said the camera never lies?! )
Sadly, though, it was over far too quickly – with happy memories all but eradicated during the five-and-a-half hours it took me to wade through my emails when I returned to the office on Tuesday.
But don’t feel too sorry for me. My day was brightened considerably yesterday when the announcement of the imminent arrival of carpet-fitters in the office meant a sudden and enforced clear-out of the tip that is otherwise known as my desk. Underneath it I found two pairs of winter boots, a long-forgotten pair of sandals, some roller skates and a Michael Ball lapel badge. Life’s good.
