Teething troubles and pork scratchings

Date: 13/05/2010

There’s been a lot of excitement in the office this week, but also much wailing and gnashing of teeth. If you’re reading this you can’t failed to have noticed that we have a new website – of sorts! – which I’m hoping will prove to be a huge improvement on our previous offering. For a start, you get to read my ramblings, opinions, news and anything else I may wish to share with you (be it a stinking hangover or winning a tenner on the lottery - which sadly hasn’t happened for quite some time.) But I am also aware that there are still a few problems, which we are working hard to resolve, so please bear with me.

Aside from fiddling with the new website this week, I also found time to pay Dr Paul Berryman a visit. As the newest member of our editorial board, the Leatherhead boss was somewhat eager to discover what his new (not to mention highly prestigious) role would involve. Wine, I told him. And plenty of it. Several times a year. I think he was thrilled that in Food and Drink Technology land, the boardroom has beer on tap, an oche and pork scratchings in plentiful supply.
