Colour-coded temperature checks

Most food processing and catering outfits already use colour-coded chopping boards or knives to prevent cross contamination between food groups. But when it comes to food temperature checking for HACCP, why splash out on multiple colour-coded thermometers when there’s now a more economic system for fighting food bacteria?

TME’s new CA2005-PK temperature kit combines a single, high accuracy HACCP compliant thermometer with six colour-coded, waterproof needle probes – detachable for cleaning so perfect for running through the ware washer or dunking in the sink.

Low cost

More hygienic than a conventional colour-coded pen thermometer which is only splashproof, the new kit’s also much cheaper at around £130 – or if you don’t want all six colours, a real snip at only £15 a probe or £65 for the single thermometer and probe combo.

Main features

TME’s new kit offers a single IP67 waterproof thermometer with a choice of six colour-coded, high accuracy probes – delivering an impressive three second response. Each probe is fitted with a thermocouple mini plug so it’s easy to switch between food groups and, most important of all, the probes are warewasher safe for ease of cleaning and sterilisation.

Do your thermometers tend to go missing? TME’s CA2005-PKW is the ideal solution: a complete wall mount kit containing a thermometer and six probes stored in a hygienic colour-coded wall holder – all for and unbeatable £144.

TME’s MD, Tom Sensier, says, “The old method of multiple colour-coded pen thermometers will soon be an expensive memory. With our CA2005 range it’s only the probes – relatively low cost items – which ‘change’ colour. And because they’re waterproof you get a much more hygienic result too.”

Look out for the new CA2005 range at Foodex 2016 at Birmingham’s NEC (18-20 April), where TME will be demonstrating its full range of accurate, fast response equipment.
