  • The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) is seeking feedback on the approach it plans to take for its upcoming assessment of dietary sugars.
  • The Hippocratic Post website reports that Britain’s teenage girls are ditching dairy, according to a survey among 2,000 UK adults, including over 1,000 parents, which showed that almost 1 in 5 teenage girls aged 13-19 are drinking less milk than two years ago, and one in six have cut it out of their diets altogether.
  • Flavours and fragrances business Givaudan has appointed Louie D’Amico as president of its flavour division.
  • Arla Foods and German dairy company DMK Group have signed a third-party manufacturing contract that will see DMK produce 35,000 tons of mozzarella cheese for Arla per year at its Nordhackstedt site in northern Germany.
  • Informa’s Agribusiness Intelligence has released its latest predictions that the worldwide sugar market is to experience a record year of production to 192 million tonnes by the end of this season.
