SOFHT award 2018 searches for future food industry star
Following on from the success of its 2017 Student Award, the Society of Food Hygiene & Technology (SOFHT) has initiated the search for two future food industry stars for 2018.
The SOFHT Student Award is targeted towards up and coming food scientists, environmental health, catering or bakery students either at undergraduate level or part time apprenticeships in employment level to demonstrate their understanding of key food safety issues and win a work placement and £500 worth of technology vouchers.
The two winners will also secure membership to the society and a place at the annual SOFHT summer event, plus the chance to network with key players in the food industry.
Sponsored by hygiene technology solutions company Holchem and ALS, food and drink testing business, in order to enter the SOFHT Student Award students need to submit details of a practical or theoretical solution or innovation relating to the food industry and its future.
The submission can be in any media format that fits the student or their course such as a dissertation, paper, poster, video or blog. The only restriction is that the submission must take no longer than 30 minutes for the judges to review.
Students have until 31 December 2017 to register their interest, with the submission deadline for 31 March 2018. Winners will be presented at the annual SOFHT Summer Soiree in July 2018.
