OGGS all–plant cake range to launch in supermarkets nationwide

A brand-new range of all-plant cakes is being introduced to supermarkets across the UK from the end of May.

Made using an egg replacer developed from the naturally occurring protein in Aquafaba these cakes are completely egg and dairy free.

The cakes come in four different flavours: Zesty Lemon, Salted Caramel, Chocolate Fudge and Victoria sponge. Also available to purchase will be chocolate cupcakes and mini vanilla cakes.

The cake range will launch in Waitrose from the 29th of May and Sainsbury’s from the 5th of June, the mini cakes will be priced from £2.35 for a 2-pack, £3.95 for a 4-pack, £4.95 for 5” cake and £3.85 for 9 fairy cakes.

The OGGS mission is to create affordable, plant-based alternatives to everyday foods. Everything from the ingredients in the cakes, to the packaging made from 100% recyclable bottle tops has been produced with the future of the planet in mind.

OGGS is also set to launch the secret ingredient, OGGS Aquafaba later this year. The liquid egg substitute made from chickpea water has been developed in collaboration with Leeds University to make a patent-pending stabilised product.
