Frutarom expands its Origanox portfolio

Shutterstock_application and raw material_300dpiFrutarom Savoy Solutions is launching Origanox OS-T, an oil-soluble variant within its portfolio of natural plant extracts that ensure foods stay fresh throughout their shelf life. Origanox OS-T is free from emulsifiers and can be labeled as ‘natural flavour’ or ‘natural plant extract’ and is available in liquid form.

The base for the new ingredient is a mix of selected tea leaves with a particularly high content of phenols to inhibit oxidation.

The extract remains stable even at high temperatures achieved when frying, extruding or baking. When Origanox OS-T is added to frying oil, the fried products are stabilized resulting in food that remains fresher for longer. When used in baked and extruded goods, Origanox OS-T must be added to the dough.

Origanox OS-T is organoleptically neutral and does not impact the taste or smell of finished products.
