Fortitude Drinks adds Penrhos Spirits to its portfolio

Fortitude Drinks UK has added Penrhos Spirits to its expanding line‑up of premium, purpose‑driven brands, securing exclusive UK distribution for the Herefordshire distillery.
Penrhos Spirits was born on a family fruit farm in the Herefordshire hills, where the founders set out to turn surplus “wonky fruit” into high‑quality spirits rather than let perfectly good produce go to waste. What began as a sustainability‑led side project has since grown into one of the UK’s most respected craft gin producers, celebrated for both flavour and environmental leadership.
In 2023, Penrhos became the world’s first distillery to switch entirely from glass to 100% recycled aluminium bottles — a move that cut its packaging carbon footprint by 91%. Lightweight, durable and infinitely recyclable, the format has set a new benchmark in sustainable spirits packaging and helped secure national retail listings, including Sainsbury’s for its London Dry Gin.
The portfolio spans the award‑winning Dry Gin, Rhubarb, Apple & Elderflower, Wonky Raspberry and Wonky Strawberry expressions, all produced in small batches in the farm’s converted cattle shed.
Fortitude Drinks partners with brands that bring genuine innovation and meaningful stories to the UK spirits market. Penrhos aligns closely with that mission, combining provenance, sustainability and standout liquid quality. Its food‑waste‑reduction ethos and pioneering aluminium packaging offer a clear, consumer‑ready narrative that resonates across both retail and hospitality.
Penrhos joins a fast‑growing stable of distinctive brands contributing to Fortitude’s strong year‑to‑date performance. The business has added ten partner brands in the past six months, delivering 22% growth and more than 3,000 new points of distribution.
“We are thrilled that Penrhos has joined us at Fortitude. It is a fantastic gin, with a truly unique proposition,” said Paul Cornell, brands director at Fortitude Spirits. “With Penrhos, its wonky fruit story and innovative aluminium bottle on board, we have no doubt 2026 will be even stronger.”
