The nation’s top pie brand is turning up the heat this summer, launching a fiery Chicken Vindaloo limited-edition that promises to spice up the football World Cup and keep fans’ tastebuds in extra time.

With football fever about to sweep the country, Pukka is making sure fans have something meaty to chew on during the big fixtures. The iconic brand has announced its hottest launch to date: a Chicken Vindaloo Pie, designed to bring a “half-time heatwave” straight to the sofa.

Kicking off just in time for the international summer of sport, the Chicken Vindaloo Pie is a bolder, fierier sibling to the stadium-favourite Chicken Balti—a range already worth nearly £1 million. While the Balti has long been a pre-match staple, Pukka is betting that fans are ready for a spicier recipe that has become synonymous with England international fixtures.

“Pukka and football go hand in hand,” says Isaac Fisher, CEO at Pukka. “For so many fans, a Pukka pie is an important part of the match day, whether they’re in the stands or on the sofa, so we’re excited to bring a bold new flavour to fire up half-time”.

This isn’t just a mild flutter in the pan; this is Pukka’s first-ever four-chilli rated pie. The starting line-up includes:

  • The Filling: Tender pieces of chicken drenched in a rich, fiery Vindaloo sauce.
  • The Heat: A potent blend of habanero and bird’s eye chillies for a serious kick.
  • The Defence: Pukka’s signature 144 layers of golden, flaky puff pastry to encase the aromatic spice.

Pukka has a track record of finding the back of the net with its limited editions. From the Pepperoni Pizza Pie to the Buffalo Chicken collaboration with Sauce Shop, these innovations have already added £1.6 million to the brand and category.

The financial performance of the Leicestershire-based baker remains solid despite economic pressures. Turnover recently rose to £88.6 million, up from £85.3 million in 2024, thanks to unwavering loyalty from pie-lovers across retail and chip shops alike.

The Chicken Vindaloo Pie (205g) carries an RRP of £2.25. It will make its debut in Tesco on 13th April, before being scouted by Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Iceland, and Ocado in the following weeks.

As Fisher puts it, the new recipe is “not for the fainthearted,” but it is expected to unite “younger spice lovers, loyal pie fans and football fanatics” under one flaky roof.
