Conveyor installation

Following extensive expansion over the last 18 months, the Bury Black Pudding Company has taken the next step in automation and efficiency with the installation of a new conveyor system.

The overhead system has been installed by Wrightfields and will carry products from the company’s spiral freezer directly into packing via a new multi head weigher, and on to the boxing area.
Production director, Richard Morris, says, “The new system is part of our plans to increase automation of our whole process and should ultimately lead to the up skilling of staff and a significant rise in our production capacity.”
The factory currently produces and packs around 38 tons of Bury Black Pudding every week, with the installation of the new conveyor systems expected to at least double packing capacity.
