Bodega Bay Hard Seltzer goes live in 72 Sainsbury’s stores

Following a successful launch in July last year, London based Bodega Bay Hard Seltzer, has launched in 72 Sainsbury’s stores at the end of January, and is to be found in the Taste the Future Bays in store.
Bodega Bay’s Hard Seltzer, a range of naturally fruit flavoured alcoholic sparkling waters, had already showed its popularity towards the end of last year, quickly becoming the alcoholic tipple of choice across the UK.
As drinkers swap beer and wine for the low-calorie hard seltzer, [just 29 calories per 100ml], the tipple continues to cement its position as the top low calorie, low abv option.
Charlie Markland, founder of Bodega Bay said: “Since our July 2019 launch, we have sold an astonishing volume of both variants and even had to bring up a production run by five months. We are absolutely thrilled to be up and running in 72 Sainsbury’s stores, and we are delighted to offer a choice for those ‘healthy hedonists’ out there.”
Markland added, “Seltzers appeal to our millennial target audience due to the low calorie and sugar content, but also because they’re gluten free and vegan”.
Bodega Bay comes in two delicious flavours; Apple with Ginger & Açai Berry and Elderflower with Lemon & Mint.
Hard seltzers are becoming a fashionable drink in the UK, as consumers are increasingly turning to low-sugar, low-calorie and low abv alternatives – a trend that has exploded in the US and has seen the Hard Seltzer value sales grow to $1bn in the past year.
Bodega Bay boasts exactly 80 per cent less sugar per millilitre than fruit cider and half the calories of wine or beer. In addition, the drinks are served in can, making them a more convenient and environmentally friendly choice.
Bodega Bay retails for £ 2.00 per can in Sainsbury’s. It is also on Amazon.
