Nutty Cacao rebrands as Makan Snacks

Nutty Cacao has rebranded as Makan Snacks at a time when it is expanding to create even more all natural, plant-based snacks.

Founder Claire Dinan, who created Nutty Cacao from her own kitchen in 2017, said “Makan means ‘eat’ in Bahasa Melayu and reminds her of her favourite moments growing up in Malaysia.

“I love making healthy, sustainable and tasty snacks. Makan is my way of sharing that love and joy with open-minded eaters looking for more sustainable choices,” said Claire.

All products are gluten and dairy-free, vegan, without any additives or preservatives and made using all-natural ingredients. Nutty Cacao will still be available under Makan Snacks and have on average over three times less sugar than other mainstream chocolate brands and contain zero palm oil. The sustainable brand also uses 100 per cent recyclable materials in their packaging, offering the product in two sizes – 30g and 100g. The variety of flavours include peanut butter, rocky road and coconut.

The current products are available in Selfridges, The Health Store, Daylesford, Content Beauty & Wellbeing, The Lodge Space and Yumbles.

Makan Snacks is now also launching its brand-new savoury range of crunchy roasted fava beans, containing one third less fat than nuts, and high in fibre and protein. The range is available in three flavours – sea salt & balsamic vinegar, simply sea salt and miso & seaweed.

“Makan makes delicious plant-based snacks that refuse to compromise on taste, your health or the planet! The rules are clear. Taste great. Feel great. Be great,” added Claire.
