Five new varieties join Lion’s Piri Piri range

Lion has expanded its range of Piri Piri sauces by adding five new flavours.

Products range from the cooler Mild, Mango & Lime and Lemon & Herb, to the punchy Hot and Extra Hot varieties.

The new additions join Lion’s best-selling classic Original Piri Piri Hot Sauce, and have been created in response to rising demand for hot and spicy flavours.

Sarah Lesser-Moor, brand manager for Lion, from AAK Foodservice, said: “Around 20% of the nation are eating more spicy food than they used to. Not only do consumers have an appetite for heat in their food, but there’s also a desire for more variations on the theme. Our new versatile Piri Piri sauces bring the heat customers crave, from hot, to sweetly spicy. Ideal for marinades, chillis, burritos, curries, sandwich fillings and dips, these searing sauces make it quick and easy to turn up the heat on your menu.”

Lion’s new Mild Piri Piri Sauce is perfect for turning down the heat. It has all the deep, complex, tangy flavour of Lion’s top-selling Piri Piri, but is designed for those who prefer things a little cooler.

The Mango & Lime Piri Piri Sauce brings an exotic cocktail of flavour to meat, seafood, vegan protein and vegetables, whilst the Lemon & Herb Piri Piri Hot Sauce delivers a fresh, herby, citrus flavour.

For diners who can’t get enough heat in their food, Lion’s new punchy Hot Piri Piri Sauce and Extra Hot Piri Piri Sauce provide a sizzling hot take on the classic Piri Piri, but with a more fiery flavour.

The new Piri Piri products are available in 2.27L bottles, with all varieties suitable for vegetarians and vegans. The Mango & Lime Piri Piri and Lemon & Herb Piri Piri are also gluten-free.
