Pickstock Telford supplies retail and home delivery sector in response to Covid-19

Pickstock Telford has changed tact to strengthen its business in response to the Covid-19 crisis.

Managing director, Greg Pickstock, said that at an unprecedented time, he is very proud of the supply chain the business has developed.

He said: “We source quality, 100% British beef from over 5,000 UK farmers, we process all our meat on-site and have supplied the food service and wholesale sectors for the last fifteen years.

“The closure of fast food outlets and restaurants has meant that we’ve had to respond quickly to these changes and adapt our product lines to suit the retail sector.”

Pickstock explained that Pickstock Telford is now supplying retailers and foodservice companies, who have recently adopted home delivery, with a range of meat products including mince, dice, steaks, joints and burgers.

“Our livestock teams are still procuring cattle from around the country, abiding to government guidelines regarding social distancing, and farmers are still able to deliver cattle directly to us meaning the supply of cattle continues to flow.

“The recent investment in a new processing plant means we have a modern facility where workers can continue to operate comfortably, in line with government guidelines. This has meant that we‘ve been able to respond to the change in circumstances and produce dedicated lines that are now feeding into the retail sector.”

Greg Pickstock concluded: “By already having an established business within the foodservice and wholesale sectors, we believe that the additional work we are doing with retailers now will only help us build and strengthen our business and supply chain for the years to come.”
