Nominations open to projects in need of financial support

The Eurofins Foundation, a Public Interest Foundation established in Belgium in 2019, is calling on charities, causes, and organisations working in the food safety field to submit applications ahead of the October 15th deadline to be considered for funding of up to 25% of their project’s value.

Based on the existing commitments of the global Eurofins’ community – contributing to global health and safety, and protecting the environment – the Foundation also aims to support initiatives tackling improvements in nutrition around the world, while promoting diversity, equality and inclusion at all levels of society, as well as education and social entrepreneurship.

Criteria can be found online (www.eurofins.com/eurofins-foundation/submit-a-project/) and includes having a project that aligns with at least two of the Foundation’s objectives.

Mark Carnaghan, managing director of Eurofins Food & Water Testing (UK & Ireland), said: “We are extremely proud to be part of the Eurofins Foundation operating worldwide and to once again be inviting charities and organisations from across the UK to submit their applications.

“The financial contribution can provide a boost to those eager to reach new audiences, secure additional funding, and make progress in their line of work.  Anyone interested in finding out more is invited to visit the website for full details on how to apply.”

In the three years the Eurofins Foundation has been operating, its beneficiaries have included Imperial College London where the funding included an undergraduate scholarship and FareShare South West (FSSW) which helps to minimise food waste and support those in need.

Blue Marine Foundation, which strives to protect 30% of the world’s ocean by 2030 and ensure the remaining 70% is managed responsibly, also used its funding to carry out ongoing research and secure additional grants which enabled its projects to be even more sustainable.
