Hensol Castle Distillery wins exclusive listing across Tesco in Wales

The UK’s only distillery located within a castle has launched a brand-new addition to its Hensol Castle range of gins, which is exclusively available to purchase through all major Tesco supermarkets. The Hensol Castle Black Gin will also be joined in Tesco stores by Hensol Castle Welsh Dry Gin and the two new recently launched Judge Jenkins rums.

Hensol Castle Distillery, located in the cellars of the Grade-I listed Hensol Castle, has been producing its own brand of gin since late 2021. Up until now, the gin range consisted of three award-winning bottles: Welsh Dry Gin (41% ABV), Blood Orange Zest Gin (40% ABV) and Wild Strawberry & Hibiscus Gin (40% ABV).

The distillers have now created an exciting new Hensol Castle Black Gin, which is infused with hand-picked black Muscat grapes from the castle-walled garden and perfectly paired with black cherries and blackberries. This will be exclusively available in Tesco for the next few months, before being made available in other supermarkets.

Hensol Castle Black and the classic Dry Gin together will be on promotion within Tesco from now until Monday 18th September at £22 per 70cl bottle for Tesco Clubcard members.

As well as the Hensol Castle Black and Dry Gin, Tesco will also be stocking another brand new range from the distillery – Judge Jenkins. This is the distillery’s first range stepping into the rum market and features two flavours: Spiced Rum (40% ABV) and Maraschino Cherry Spiced Rum (37.5% ABV).

Chris Leeke, managing director of Hensol Castle Distillery said the partnership with Tesco is a significant step forward in the remarkable journey of the on-site distillery.

“The exclusive launch of our Hensol Castle Black Gin, complemented by our other signature spirits, reflects the dedication and passion of our team,” Leeke added. “Just recently we launched into Asda and Morrisons stores throughout Wales and this partnership with Tesco only furthers our reach and helps us to get great tasting and uniquely flavoured gins and rums in the hands of those who enjoy them.”
