Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) is marking a major milestone as its Edmonton manufacturing site celebrates its 50th anniversary, honouring five decades of soft drinks production, significant investment, and deep community engagement in North London.
Since opening its doors in 1975, the Edmonton facility has grown into a cornerstone of CCEP’s British manufacturing network. It now operates seven production lines and holds the distinction of being the sole CCEP site to produce specialised bag-in-box products, crucial for supporting the country’s hospitality industry.
CCEP has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to the site’s future, investing £22 million since 2019. The facility currently supports approximately 300 direct jobs, including a strong cohort of 11 apprentices and graduates, and is estimated to underpin more than 4,000 indirect jobs across related supply chains, from transport and retail to agriculture.
To commemorate the “Golden Jubilee,” CCEP hosted a special celebration for its colleagues. The event featured:
- A look back at Edmonton’s rich history and achievements.
- Recognition for long-serving team members.
- The unveiling of a special golden plaque.
- A celebratory lunch for all employees.
The anniversary not only highlighted production success but also recognised the site’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and the local area, including £42,500 in donations to local charities since 2019.
Katie Hutt, GB manufacturing director at CCEP, emphasised the site’s integral role beyond manufacturing: “Edmonton has always been more than a manufacturing site, it’s a place with real community spirit. So many people have worked here for years, building friendships, passing on knowledge and taking pride in what they do every single day.”
“As one of North London’s long-standing local businesses – we’re proud to play a part in the community – creating jobs, supporting local causes and local people. That’s what we’re celebrating, not just 50 years of production, but 50 years of people showing up with care and commitment.”
Hutt concluded by expressing excitement for the future, driven by the team’s ongoing energy and pride.
