Kersia and Meat Business Women accelerate female careers

Kersia, the global leader in food safety and hygiene solutions, has announced a strategic international partnership with Meat Business Women (MBW), a move designed to accelerate female career development and address persistent gender imbalances across the food supply chain.
The collaboration will provide Kersia’s female workforce — which spans commercial, technical, and operational roles across 120 countries — with access to structured leadership masterclasses, global networking, and professional mentoring.
The partnership is a cornerstone of Kersia’s broader diversity and inclusion strategy as it scales its international operations. With more than 3,000 employees worldwide, the company is positioning talent development as a critical pillar of its mission to dominate the global food safety sector.
“We are on a mission to be the brand leader in food safety,” said Andrew Downie, managing director of Kersia UK. “Reaching this goal requires investing in people, sharing that vision, and building a company that’s robust for the future.”
Downie emphasised that the partnership isn’t just about representation, but about fostering a culture where career prosperity is tied to meaningful impact. “If you’re leaving work having achieved something that makes a difference, your career grows and prospers,” he added.
The move aligns Kersia with the ‘Food Business Charter,’ a collective industry initiative spearheaded by MBW. The charter sets an ambitious target of achieving 40% female representation across the global food supply chain by 2035 — a goal that requires buy-in from major technical and service providers like Kersia, not just food processors and retailers.
Joanna Parnell, managing director of Meat Business Women, highlighted the importance of these corporate alliances in stemming “talent leak” within the industry. “We see how powerful connection, training, and mentoring can be in supporting female retention and progression,” Parnell stated.
Inaugural event: leading into International Women’s Day
The partnership will see its first major activation in the UK, where Kersia will host an inaugural live session ahead of International Women’s Day (March 8). The event is expected to serve as a blueprint for similar sessions across Kersia’s global hubs in Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
