Building on the momentum of a highly successful festive campaign, corrugated packaging specialist Durham Box partnered with heritage tea and coffee brand Ringtons to deliver a standout 2026 Mother’s Day gift collection.

The centrepiece of the new range is the Mother’s Day Morning Gift Box, a hamper-style pack that uses high-tech laser die-cutting to translate Ringtons’ spring-inspired floral artwork into a three-dimensional tactile experience.

To achieve the intricate detailing required for the seasonal graphics, Durham Box utilised its Highcon digital cutting technology. This allowed for a laser die-cut floral window that adds depth to the pack and offers a subtle preview of the internal contents—a design feature that was heavily influenced by the positive customer response to Ringtons’ similar Christmas gifting design.

The box is manufactured from E-flute corrugated board, providing the structural integrity necessary for the home-delivery market while remaining easy to assemble.

The design team employed a sophisticated printing technique to ensure the spring colours popped, producing a substrate, which is digitally printed onto a white kraft liner. A “mock kraft” effect was printed onto the white liner. This allowed the brand to capture the visual warmth of traditional brown kraft paper while benefiting from the superior colour reproduction and vibrancy that a white base provides. A sleek matt finish was applied to maintain a premium, understated aesthetic.

“We’ve been really impressed with the finish of this year’s boxes,” said Serena Philipson, head of product at Ringtons. “The clarity of print and colour delivery was excellent, and the laser cut-out provided something unique that really helps the pack stand out from other Mother’s Day gifts in the market.”

Sally Caton, business development manager at Durham Box, noted that the project highlights the shifting trends in seasonal retail. “Laser die-cutting allows brands to create something visually distinctive without relying solely on print. Working closely with the Ringtons team meant we could translate their spring floral design into a practical corrugated format that combines vibrant digital print with precision cutting.”

In addition to the main Morning Gift Box, Durham Box also produced Ringtons’ “Letterbox Love Gift,” ensuring a cohesive brand presentation across different price points and delivery methods.

Durham Box, a member of the Logson Group, continues to position itself as a leader in the bespoke gifting sector, leveraging digital finishing techniques to provide high-end results for both regional favourites like Ringtons and large-scale national accounts.
