Urschel is preparing to unveil its latest cutting innovation, the Little Gem Aspire Dicer, at a series of major international exhibitions from May 2026, marking a significant new launch for fruit and vegetable processors seeking compact, precision‑engineered equipment.

The new machine will make its first public appearance at Interpack in Düsseldorf (7–13 May), before heading to the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago (16–19 May), FOOMA in Tokyo (2–5 June) and ProPak Asia in Bangkok (10–13 June). Each event will feature an official reveal, giving processors the chance to see the dicer in action and explore its cutting capabilities.

Developed by Urschel’s Innovation & Development team, the Little Gem Aspire introduces a new cutting concept built on patented technology and extensive global R&D. Urschel says the project involved close collaboration between its innovation, engineering and manufacturing teams, alongside trials with customers worldwide to refine the machine’s performance.

Designed for processors with limited floor space, the Little Gem Aspire offers a small footprint while delivering a range of high‑precision cuts. It can produce slices from 2–10 mm, strips, and dices up to 20 mm, making it suitable for a wide variety of fruit and vegetable applications. Urschel positions the machine as “ready to run”, targeting manufacturers looking for fast installation and reliable, consistent output.

The new model takes its name from the original Little Gem, a breakthrough invention by company founder William E. Urschel in the early 1900s. That machine — designed to remove stems and blossoms from gooseberries — could replace the work of 100 labourers and helped transform early canning production. Urschel says the Aspire continues that legacy, offering processors a modern, patent‑pending approach to cutting that reflects more than a century of innovation.

Further details will be released on the company’s website as the exhibition dates approach. Urschel says the staged global reveals are intended to give customers hands‑on access to the new technology and demonstrate how the Aspire concept can support today’s processing demands for efficiency, accuracy and versatility.
