YEW Pickle Water meets demand for bold, food‑led flavours

YEW, the chef‑founded sparkling water brand known for its food‑first approach to flavour, has launched the UK’s first pickle flavoured sparkling water — an innovation designed to meet growing consumer appetite for bold, culinary‑inspired drinks.
YEW Pickle debuts exclusively at Planet Organic stores and yewdrink.com from 1 July, ahead of a six‑month grocery exclusive with Ocado.com
YEW Pickle blends sparkling water with a splash of briny dill pickle, fresh cucumber notes and a bright tangy finish. Like the rest of the YEW range, it contains zero sugar, zero sweetener, zero calories and nothing artificial. The launch reflects a wider shift in the soft‑drinks category, where consumers are increasingly seeking grown‑up, savoury‑leaning flavours inspired by restaurant culture and culinary craft.
“For us, flavour always starts with food,” said cook and co‑founder Jesse Jenkins, also known as A.D.I.P. “Pickle works so well in the kitchen because it cuts through richness, lifts a dish, and makes you want another bite. We wanted to capture that in a can and create something clean yet surprising and completely delicious.”
YEW’s range already includes Pink Rhubarb, Green Apple and Yuzu Grapefruit—flavours that have helped the brand quickly stand out in a crowded market. Since launching in September 2024, YEW has grown rapidly, securing more than 2,000 stocking points across retail and hospitality. The upcoming Ocado partnership will make the full range available nationwide, with Ocado becoming YEW’s exclusive grocery partner for six months.
Lauren Dobinson, buying manager at Ocado Retail, said the listing reflects rising curiosity for unexpected flavour profiles. “YEW brings something genuinely fresh to the category. We’re particularly looking forward to introducing our customers to the full YEW range, including the UK’s first pickle flavoured sparkling water, and hearing what they think.”
Planet Organic, the first retailer to stock YEW Pickle, reports strong early demand. “Our customers have really connected with YEW’s transparent formulations, distinctive flavours and bold designs,” said senior buyer Alastair Smith. “We’re excited to give shoppers an exclusive first taste of YEW Pickle Sparkling Water, a flavour that’s already a firm favourite in‑store.”
Co‑founder Francesca Zampi said the Ocado partnership marks a pivotal moment. “Ocado customers are curious, quality driven and love discovering new food and drink experiences, so it feels like a very natural home for YEW.”
