Wardat Al Mashreq Food Co. is expanding its processed‑cheese portfolio with a new single‑serve stick‑pack format, delivered through a collaboration with IMA Hassia.

The Saudi Arabian producer has installed IMA’s S600 vertical form, fill and seal machine at its facility, enabling the business to move into portioned applications for liquid and pasty foods.

IMA Hassia develops “vertical form, fill and seal machines for stick packs and sachets – including aseptic packaging machines for extended shelf life – for liquid to pasty products,” positioning the S600 as a strong fit for processed cheese.

The new packaging format marks a shift towards convenience‑led dairy innovation. Stick packs offer portion control, improved hygiene and strong shelf appeal, giving Wardat a differentiated route to market.

The individually sealed packs support on‑the‑go consumption and help maintain product quality, while the S600’s high‑speed operation ensures the throughput required for commercial scale. The machine’s ability to handle viscous products reliably is central to the launch, providing consistent filling performance and secure sealing across each single‑serve unit.

IMA Hassia’s role extends beyond machinery supply. As part of IMA Dairy & Food, the company brings specialist engineering expertise and sector knowledge, supporting installation, commissioning and optimisation of the new line. The division employs more than 550 people across multiple European sites, offering a broad portfolio of forming, filling and sealing systems for dairy applications. This depth of experience has helped Wardat integrate the stick‑pack format smoothly into its production environment.

Early results have been strong enough for Wardat to commit to further investment. “We already ordered a second stick pack machine,” chairman Salem Almazroo confirms, with delivery scheduled for early 2027. The decision reflects confidence in both the format and the technology, signalling that stick packs will become a more prominent part of the company’s processed‑cheese strategy.

For Wardat, the collaboration with IMA provides a platform for growth in a competitive dairy market. The new format enhances consumer convenience, strengthens product differentiation and supports efficient production. For IMA Hassia, the project demonstrates the versatility of its S600 technology and its ability to support customers seeking modern, portioned packaging solutions for liquid and pasty foods.
