SIAL Paris is preparing for a major evolution for its 2028 edition.

To support long-term growth and elevate the trade show experience, organiser Comexposium has announced that the event will take place simultaneously across two complementary venues: its long-standing home at Paris Nord Villepinte and the nearby Paris-Le Bourget exhibition center.

Operating as a unified single event, this dual-venue model is designed to deliver expanded floor space, intuitive sector layouts, and interactive new event formats for the global food industry.

1. More space, better comfort, and reduced crowding

A primary objective of expanding across two locations is improving overall comfort and flow for attendees. The added floor space will increase visitor capacity while reducing overcrowding in high-traffic zones.

For visitors, less time spent navigating packed aisles means more time devoted to key business priorities — discovering products, attending scheduled meetings, and interacting directly with exhibitors. Exhibitors will benefit from dedicated spaces tailored to their display needs and clearer visitor routes that encourage discovery.

2. Sector groupings tailored to buyers

Rather than dividing the exhibition arbitrarily, SIAL Paris is organising the two sites according to purchasing channels, professional communities, and shared uses:

  • Paris Nord Villepinte: will continue to host a major portion of SIAL’s main exhibition categories.
  • Pais-Le Bourget: Will consolidate closely linked, high-growth sectors — including beverages, hot beverages, wines and spirits, delicatessen products, frozen foods, ice cream and sorbets, catering products, and snacks.

This sector grouping creates a more logical journey for buyers. Retailers, restaurateurs, importers, and foodservice operators will be able to explore complementary product lines within a single venue and identify new product combinations. In turn, exhibitors gain targeted visibility among relevant buyer groups.

3. Interactive arenas and live culinary stages

The expanded footprint at Paris-Le Bourget creates room for dedicated event spaces designed to bring industry innovation to life. These experiential zones will be seamlessly integrated into the main visitor routes and will feature:

  • Live culinary stages and product demonstration areas
  • Guided tasting sessions and competitions
  • Forward-looking industry presentations and curated networking spaces

These formats will increase product visibility, encourage dialogue between chefs, manufacturers, buyers, and influencers, and provide extra incentive for visitors to extend their stay.

4. Seamless mobility and a single badge

To keep the show cohesive, SIAL Paris is ensuring smooth transition and access between both sites:

  • Unified access: a single badge will grant full access to both Paris Nord Villepinte and Paris-Le Bourget.
  • Dedicated connections: continuous, dedicated shuttle links will operate directly between the two exhibition centers.
  • Upgraded transport infrastructure: Paris-Le Bourget will benefit from Greater Paris transport network developments, including the planned arrival of Line 17 of the Grand Paris Express, improving connections with central Paris and the surrounding region.

By expanding across two venues, SIAL Paris is creating a more spacious, functional, and engaging environment to connect the global food community and drive new business opportunities.
