Christmas pud drink-drive risk

Boozy Christmas puddings are threatening to push revellers over the drink-drive limit this year, according to a new report from consumer website supermarketownbrandguide.co.uk.
Potent puds from supermarkets such as Asda, M&S and the Co-op pack the same punch as a third of a bottle of brandy if microwaved rather than steamed, warns the report.
Marks & Spencer’s The Collection Perfectly Matured Christmas Pudding topped the booze charts at 21.5% proof. A 100g portion contains the same amount of booze as a pub measure of spirits.
“An extra portion could put you over the limit,” says the website.
