David Gregory elected as IFST president

The Institute of Food Science & Technology (IFST) has elected David Gregory as its new president. Gregory was invested during IFST’s annual general meeting on 14 March 2017.

Gregory explains, “I am delighted and honoured to be elected president of the IFST. The Institute is the voice of the food profession and provides the resources for our members to develop their professional careers in this exciting industry. I’m looking forward to working with the committed volunteers, staff and the whole IFST membership to further develop this important organisation.”

Gregory has a portfolio of non executive roles in food and science related businesses and organisations. These include non executive director of Boparan Holdings (2 Sisters Food Group), non executive chairman of Acoura, non executive director of British Retail Consortium Trading, and a member of council and chair of audit board of the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC).

He is also a visiting professor at the University of Reading Centre for Food Security and a fellow of the IFST.
