Water production increased

Irish natural spring water brand Celtic Pure is bottled at source by the McEneaney family at Corcreagh, Co Monaghan. Last summer, the company saw record sales of in excess of 60 million bottles.

Padraig McEneaney comments, “I started my search for the new line at the last Drinktec. Having evaluated a number of suppliers, I chose the Krones proposal not only for the quality of equipment and the reputation they have within the industry, but also for the after sales and service back up.”

The €2.5 million investment in Krones technology has provided the capacity to produce 100 million bottles a year.

McEneaney continues, “Their new blow fill technology is really cutting edge and now that it is installed it will make huge energy savings and improve our carbon footprint. I have chosen the Krones Contiform S3 8 cavity blower and the 32 head Modufill VODM PET filler, together with a Contiroll 15 head labeller with autosplice. Krones also supplied all the mass flow bottle conveyors.”

The Krones Contiform produces five bottle sizes – 250ml, 500ml, 750ml, one litre and 1.5 litres for still water at 18,000 bph.
