Pret rolls out reusable cup
International sandwich shop chain Pret a Manger is this week launching a reusable cup for customers to purchase in shops nationwide, allowing them to benefit from a 50p discount in store.
Pret says that since the 50p discount was introduced, it has seen a ten-fold increase in reusable cup use, and it hopes its new cup will inspire more customers to make the switch.
“We introduced a market leading discount of 50p for using a reusable cup at the start of the year,” says Clive Schlee, CEO of Pret. “This increased usage ten-fold which has amazed us all. I’m hoping our own cup will encourage more customers to bring one in.”
The new reusable 12oz cup is made from lightweight bamboo fibre and has a re-sealable, no-drip lid. Its design features the Pret star logo on a cream background and costs £10.
