Zagorka partners with Ball for limited edition cans

Bulgarian beer brand, Zagorka has launched two limited-edition cans featuring art by two Bulgarian artists, in association with can manufacturer Ball Corporation.

Zagorka’s latest campaign utilises Ball’s 500ml standard can to feature two artists, Ivan Shopov and Nasimo. Electronic musical artist and producer, Ivan Shopov, combines traditional Bulgarian folklore and electronic music and jazz. Nasimo is recognised as one of the pioneers of the Eastern European graffiti and street art culture, and is one of the most popular muralist artists in the Balkans.

To enhance consumer’s experiences, Zagorka utilises QR codes, to provide access to the creations of the two artists. The can with the cover art of the album Kanatitza by Ivan Shopov & Avigeya is a link to unique music that can be downloaded for free; and from the can with the Yane creation of Nasimo, consumers will be able to download some of his selected works in the form of free wallpapers for desktop and mobile phones.

With more brands using packaging as a way to develop a more personal link to consumers, the designs present a different method of expression of the talented Bulgarian artists.

Elitsa Ivanova, manager marketing Bulgaria, said: “Our co-operation with Ball has assured us that we can have the effect of high quality printing that we needed for the perfect visualisation of the art pieces. The brand chose to use fully recyclable packaging to appeal to its customers to be more sustainable and be cautious of its carbon footprint.”
