McCain rebrands Oven Chips

Coming this month are a 900g bag (£1.79) and a 1.7kg bag (£2.79), in crinkle and straight cut types.

The packs also feature a “fresh new design” to make it “easily identifiable for shoppers”, to highlight “the products two simple ingredient – potatoes and sunflower oil”, and to indicate that they are vegan and gluten free.

McCain said the rebrand also helps make it simpler for consumers to look for healthier products that fit their diet and lifestyle.

Marketing director Mark Hodge said: “This is an exciting rebrand for us as we’ve been able to take our Oven Chips and make them more modern and attractive to shoppers.

“The product taps into increasingly popular trends by offering a natural, ‘clean’ product which will drive further growth in the category.

“We know that consumers are now looking for more choice in the category and this allows us to tap into a new product audience of ‘health conscious’ eaters as well as broaden the breadth of our range for core buyers and attract new shoppers down the frozen aisle by offering them a simple product that tastes delicious.”
