Supplements brand joins with FareShare to redistribute nutritious food to vulnerable people

New supplements brand, Fight, is on a mission to help make good nutrition accessible to all as it aims to tackle the growing malnutrition crisis in the UK, one bottle at a time. Built on a belief that good nutrition should be a right, not a privilege, the brand has partnered with leading food redistribution charity, FareShare, in order to support their efforts in tackling hunger across the country.

Throughout the duration of the partnership, Fight will be supporting the unparalleled work FareShare does in redistributing nutritious food to vulnerable people across the UK by making a donation to the charity every time a bottle of supplements is bought. With an initial commitment to donate at least 100,000 meals to FareShare in its first year, Fight aims to contribute to the fight for good nutrition at a time when food poverty is rising.

The partnership works by Fight giving £0.25 – the cost of redistributing one meal – to FareShare for every bottle bought. FareShare redistributes nutritious food to over 11,0000 charity partners who then turn it into meals for vulnerable people across the UK.

The Fight range is designed to support a healthy and balanced diet – the vegan gummies and high-strength tablets use scientifically-backed ingredients including Vitamin C, Vitamin B6 & B12, that support the body, especially during the winter months. The full range is available exclusively online at Amazon.co.uk.

Niccolo Gasparoli, product manager of Fight Vitamins says: “At Fight, we believe everyone should have access to good nutrition. With vitamins and supplements as a way to support a healthy and balanced diet – not a substitute for a good meal – we chose to partner with FareShare to help reach those most vulnerable and in need. FareShare have been battling hunger for more than 25 years and we’re astounded by the incredible impact they have made so far. Our aim is to support the healthy and balanced lifestyles of people across the country, while helping to change the statistics around undernutrition, one bottle at a time.”

This new partnership serves as another charitable milestone for FareShare, already the leader in food redistribution to the UK charitable sector. Recent reports have revealed that 6.6 million tonnes of household food waste is thrown away each year in the UK (2), however there is approximately three million people across the country who are malnourished (3). In 2019, FareShare supported more than 900,000 people every week across the UK with its efforts, and provided more than 57 million meals to vulnerable people. The charity works with more than 11,000 charities and community groups in the UK,  providing them with the food they need to create nutritious meals. Many of these charities would not be able to afford the cost if they had to buy the food themselves.

Lindsay Boswell, CEO, FareShare, commented on the partnership: “With every sale of a bottle of Fight Vitamins, FareShare will be able to provide one meal to the most vulnerable in our communities. We have seen such a detrimental impact from the coronavirus pandemic on families, with a huge increase in demand from frontline charities. With FIGHT’s commitment to provide at least 100,000 meals in the next year, they’re helping FareShare to provide food to families at a time when they need it most.”
