National Cake Day: The top ten Instagrammed desserts
Cake has topped the list of the tastiest looking desserts, according to JackandBeyond.com who sought to discover which are a feast for Instagrammers eyes.
By finding the most tagged sweets on the social channel, cake is out in front with 104,925,870 hashtags. But which cake type is the most popular? Jack and Beyond found that Cake Pops (3,850,182) is the most Instagrammed type of cake followed by Naked Cakes (2,243,652). When it comes to flavours, chocolate is the most popular cake flavour on foodies’ feeds (6,621,881).
Instagrammers can’t get enough of chocolate: the indulgent treat is ranked in second with 87,810,253 posts. Surprisingly, other than chocolate cake, Chocolate Bouquet is the type of chocolate dessert that gets more snapshots from Instagrammers (667,337).
Ice cream came in third place (39,498,997 posts), with vanilla being the ice cream flavour sweet-toothed Instagrammers love the most (393,770).
Macaroons and their Instagrammable variety of colours, couldn’t be missed off the list and make ninth place with 7,762,806 posts. The top 10 most Instagrammed dessert is the muffin (6,645,558).
