Covid-19’s impact on young people’s career prospects has been severe, with recent research revealing that nearly one million young people could currently be unemployed due to Covid-19, with under-25s being more likely to be furloughed than any other age group. Further research has found that more than a third of young people claim to have abandoned their aspirations for the year ahead and believe their future goals now seem impossible to achieve. With the deepening job crisis hitting young people the hardest, award-winning alcohol-free beer brand, Freestar, has partnered with next-gen marketing consultancy, The People, to launch a free mentoring hotline.

Every Friday afternoon between 3pm-5pm, young people in the UK will be able to book in a 30 minute one-to-one free video session with an industry expert in the field of work they’re interested in. Mentors with experience from leading brands such as Propercorn, Tesla UK, the BBC and Deloitte will provide young mentees with industry advice, interview prep and job application tactics. The hotline has already mentored over 50 young people, with many arranging regular catch-up calls with their mentor.

Freestar’s purpose is to ‘champion the next generation’ and is encouraging all young jobseekers, from those interested in corporate business strategy to those keen to explore their creative flare, to book an invaluable, free mentoring session. All young people need to do is drop Freestar a WhatsApp on 07783216481, including their name, what area of work they’re interested in, and what career challenges they’re currently facing, or fill in and submit this formSee website page too.

Felix von Hurter, co-founder of Freestar said: “At Freestar we’re all about championing the next generation, so supporting young people and helping them to upskill and access potential job opportunities is a no brainer for us. Now, more than ever, a lot of young people feel that the odds are stacked against them, we want our mentoring hotline to help reignite their ambition and confidence, because they’re the future.”
