Waitrose next for Hip Pop’s Living Soda range

Gut Lovin’ drinks brand, Hip Pop, has welcomed yet another iconic British retailer to its growing list of stockists, having launched in 52 Marks & Spencer’s Food Halls just last month.

As of this week, Hip Pop’s functional Living Sodas – in flavours Tropical Peach and Ginger & Turmeric – are available to purchase from selected Waitrose stores across the UK.

Packed with ¼ of your daily fibre (8g) per can, apple cider vinegar and probiotic live cultures that are scientifically proven to support gut health, Hip Pop’s variety of Living Sodas are a healthy alternative to the typical traditional fizzy drinks.

Last year, the Manchester based business submitted four of its fermented living culture drinks to be considered by Great Taste – the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme – and walked away with a clean sweep after all four products won an award.

The Tropical Peach Living Soda received two stars, whilst the Ginger & Yuzu Kombucha, Gut Lovin’ Lemonade and Cherry & Blackberry CBD Kombucha – Hip Pop’s first CBD drink to launch in Sainsbury’s – each received one star, positioning Hip Pop as an official Great Taste producer.

Emma Thackray, co-founder of Hip Pop, commented: “We’re thrilled to be part of Waitrose’s new functional soft drink fixture. The consumer demand for healthier drinks continues to expand rapidly and our fibre packed probiotic soda offers a genuinely gut-loving alternative.”

Hip Pop experienced a wealth of awards success in 2023, when one of its most popular sodas was recognised twice by The Grocer in just two months. Its Gut Lovin’ Orange Soda not only won The Grocer New Product Award for Soft Drinks – beating a number of industry giants including Red Bull, Rubicon and Shloer – but was also named ‘Top Launch’ in the Soft Drinks category within The Grocer’s Top Products 2023 report.

Founded in 2019, Hip Pop is quickly becoming a go-to functional soft drinks brand with no compromise on taste. Its range of 100% natural, vegan and low-calorie kombucha and sodas “taste good and do good”.

Last month, Hip Pop partnered with alcohol-free drinks club, NonToxicated, for Dry January, further promoting its New Year’s resolution to explore being “sober curious”.

In addition to Waitrose and M&S, the Hip Pop range is currently available to purchase from Booths, Wholefoods, Fortnum & Mason and Sainsbury’s.
