Middleby unveils state-of-the-art Italian facility as global processing hub
The Middleby Corporation has significantly expanded its global footprint with the announcement of the Middleby Centro di Innovazione (MCI), a flagship center of innovation for the Middleby Food Processing group.
Located in Italy near Venice, the new 65,000-square-foot facility is specifically designed to function as a global hub for advanced customer solutions, research, and collaboration.
The MCI, situated at Casarsa Della Delizia (PD, Italy), is an expansion of Middleby’s existing worldwide network of innovation centers. However, its scale and meticulous design establish it as a premiere site dedicated to showcasing the most advanced technologies in food processing.
Mark Salman, president of Middleby Food Processing, emphasised the strategic importance of the location: “With high customer demand in Europe for our systems and demonstrations, we are excited to showcase the world’s most advanced technologies in a premiere location that will serve as a global hub. The facility is state of the art, as we meticulously planned every product and application to ensure a one-of-a-kind experience and an unparalleled innovation showcase.”
The state-of-the-art center is dedicated to the advancement of protein, bakery, and snack processing. It is fully equipped with the latest cutting-edge industry technologies and staffed by knowledgeable experts, allowing customers to experience full-production scale demonstrations of Middleby Food Processing solutions; conduct product research and development and rigorous customer testing; and utilise resources for operator training and validation.
The MCI is intended for customers to use the facility to address current and future industry trends and challenges.
The Middleby Centro di Innovazione is the creative ingenuity of Giovanni Battista Colussi, the founder of Colussi Ermes (a global leader in washing systems and a Middleby Food Processing company).
Mr Colussi designed the facility to be an engineering masterpiece and a comprehensive showcase for all Middleby companies.
