PPM Technologies, a key member of Duravant’s Food Sorting and Handling Group, has launched the third generation of its FlavorWright All-in-One seasoning system.

This latest iteration brings a host of practical updates, many driven by direct processor feedback, that significantly enhance reliability, efficiency, and operator experience for continuous coating applications.

The FlavorWright All-in-One is a compact, portable, single plug-and-play solution designed to combine both liquid and dry seasoning in one unit. It is ideal for continuously coating a wide range of products, including snacks, nuts, confectioneries, cereals, vegetables, fruits, and frozen foods. “Many of the enhancements in the Gen 3 came directly from processors in the field who told us what would make their systems reliable, efficient and easy to operate. These are practical updates that bring real value,” said Jack Lee, Duravant Group president – food sorting and handling.

The Gen 3 model introduces multiple design features focused on safety, maintenance, and product flow. For operator safety and washdown efficiency, wiring is now safely routed through the frame, simplifying cleaning procedures. A programmable light alarm beacon offers customisable visual alerts for real-time system status, product levels, and process conditions.

To minimise spillage and maintain consistent product flow, an extended Mini VF infeed conveyor is now equipped with new side guards. Additionally, new optional forklift mounts are available to facilitate safe and easy transport of the unit around the processing plant.

PPM debuted several critical updates to the seasoning drum itself, supporting greater capacity and application flexibility. Upgraded magnetic drum mounts are built to support high-capacity applications, providing better stability, especially when processing dense products like nuts.

For improved consistency, a new angle indicator helps operators quickly and consistently set the ideal drum position for different products. Perhaps the most robust addition is a new bolt-on, stainless-steel drum option, which provides robust durability and can accommodate customisable flight configurations. This is particularly valuable for high-temperature or frozen foods, and for operations requiring metal-detectable components in the product contact zone.

Designed as a pre-engineered, standardised system, the FlavorWright All-in-One offers faster lead times and an economical price point. Processors can choose between volumetric or gravimetric metering, with the gravimetric option incorporating load cells for enhanced accuracy. This flexibility allows processors to match control complexity and precision to their specific operational needs and workforce capabilities.

The system is built for seamless integration, connecting with upstream and downstream equipment via Ethernet or 24 V signals. It can also be configured to monitor and control connected systems directly through its human-machine interface (HMI). Furthermore, the unit features IP65-rated washdown capability and food-grade materials throughout. Quick-release components on the seasoning hopper and plastic drum enable product changeover in as little as five minutes, depending on the application.

PPM supports the new system with its global service organisation, offering installation assistance, preventive maintenance, and responsive technical support, including remote commissioning for efficient setup and training.
