AIB International, a global leader in food safety and operational excellence, has announced the appointment of Aaron K. Edwards as its new chief executive officer, effective 1 December 2025.

Edwards’ appointment signals a focus on accelerating value delivery to the entire food and beverage ecosystem, from start-ups to the world’s largest brands.

Edwards brings nearly 30 years of global experience across the food, beverage, and nutrition ingredients sectors, a background that combines scientific depth, commercial discipline, and global leadership. This experience positions AIB International to better serve clients grappling with increasingly complex demands in food safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

“Aaron brings not only a deep understanding of the food industry but also a collaborative leadership style that inspires confidence at every level,” said Brad Allen, chair of the AIB Holdings Inc. board of directors. “His global mindset and proven ability to lead organisations through complex transitions make him the ideal leader to guide AIB into its next chapter.”

Prior to joining AIB International, Edwards was president at Vibrant Ingredients, where he successfully led the integration of four acquired companies and expanded the business into new markets. His career also includes 25 years at Ingredion in various leadership roles across North America, Europe, and Asia, focusing on innovation and global team-building.

Edwards is a food scientist with degrees from the University of Tennessee and Cornell University, giving him deep technical and operational insight into food protection. Crucially, his influence extends to regulatory policy, having collaborated directly with the USDA and FDA to shape food safety regulations. This experience is expected to significantly enhance AIB’s ability to help clients proactively navigate shifting regulatory expectations.

AIB International is a global leader in food safety,” said Edwards. “My focus is to help us move faster, go deeper, and deliver even more meaningful value, from start-ups to the world’s largest food brands. We will continue to innovate and lead, ensuring our clients not only meet the standard, but define it.”

Tameka Carr, chair of the AIB Board of Trustees, concluded: “With Aaron at the helm, AIB is well-positioned to expand its global leadership in food safety, research, and education, accelerating our non-profit mission to empower and strengthen the industry in building a safer, more resilient global food supply chain.”
