Australia’s cult-favourite biscuit is shaking up the UK free-from category just in time for Coeliac Awareness Month this May.

Tim Tam Original Gluten Free is hitting the shelves of major retailers, proving that going gluten-free doesn’t mean missing out on indulgence.

The wait is over for British biscuit lovers seeking a wheat-free “timmy” fix. Tim Tam Original Gluten Free is launching nationwide, arriving in Sainsbury’s from April 19 and Tesco from April 27 with an RRP of £3.50. The timing is intentional, landing perfectly ahead of Coeliac Awareness Month to support the 1 in 100 people in the UK living with coeliac disease.

According to the brand, this isn’t just another substitute; it’s a verified winner. Just months after its initial debut, Tim Tam Original Gluten Free took home the Gold Medal at the 2025 Free From Food Awards. The accolade highlights a growing national appetite for gluten-free treats that refuse to compromise on taste or texture.

“We know UK shoppers are looking for great-tasting, delicious gluten-free options and not substitutes – they want the real treat experience,” says Amber Dutkiewicz, market development manager UK&I.

The gluten-free version delivers the exact same mouth-watering architecture that made the original an Australian icon with multiple layers of crisp biscuit, a luscious, velvety cream centre, and an indulgent milk chocolate flavour coating.

The UK free-from category has traditionally been viewed as functional rather than indulgent. However, with millions of Brits managing gluten intolerances or choosing to reduce gluten intake, the demand for high-quality alternatives is skyrocketing.

By expanding into Sainsbury’s and Tesco, Tim Tam is bringing mainstream excitement to the aisle. Whether you are performing the legendary “Tim Tam Slam” with an afternoon coffee or stocking up for a party, this launch ensures that “the real treat experience” is accessible to millions more shoppers across the country.
