Organisers of Fruit Logistica have announced the launch of a new dedicated Innovation Zone for the 2027 trade show, bringing together its core innovation formats into a single, cohesive hub in Hall 3.2.

Scheduled to take place from February 3 to 5, 2027, in Berlin, the world’s leading fresh produce trade show will guide international trade visitors under the core principle: “One Innovation Journey — From New to Proven Success.”

The new format is designed to illustrate the complete life cycle of fresh produce innovations, tracking developments from initial market launch to established, long-term commercial success.

A unified ecosystem

By housing its major innovation initiatives under one roof in Hall 3.2, Fruit Logistica aims to simplify navigation for visitors while giving pioneer companies maximum visibility before an international audience of industry professionals.

“Innovations have always been a central part of Fruit Logistica. With the new Innovation Zone, we are bringing them together in one place for the first time. This creates a central platform where innovative companies can present their developments to an international audience of industry professionals, establish valuable contacts, and increase their visibility in the market in a sustainable way,” said Christina Freier, project director for Fruit Logistica.

Core pillars of the Innovation Zone

The newly structured zone combines three central components:

1. Fruit Logistica Innovation Award (FLIA)

For over two decades, the FLIA has recognised breakthrough products, services, and technologies in the fresh fruit sector.

Eligibility: Solutions on the market for no more than 12 months prior to February 2027.

New format: nominees will pitch their solutions live to a professional audience on the new Innovation Stage.

Timeline: the FLIA ceremony will take place on the first day of the trade show, serving as the official kickoff for the event’s innovation showcase. Applications for the award are currently open.

2. Fruit Logistica Innovation Showcases (FLIS)

Expanding upon the former New Product Showcases, the FLIS expands the event’s scope to address products and solutions that have transitioned past their initial launch.

Focus: Innovations that have been on the market for one to three years and have proven their practical viability.

Objective: answers key visitor questions regarding which new technologies are delivering real-world results, while offering established innovators a platform to pitch updates and market developments on stage.

3. The Innovation Stage

Positioned at the heart of Hall 3.2, the Innovation Stage will serve as the primary communications and knowledge-sharing hub across all three days.

Programme lineup: in addition to the FLIA ceremony and FLIS partner pitches, the stage will host expert panels, best-practice demonstrations, and presentations covering future trends, sustainability, technology, and line automation.

Streamlining impact

By uniting the FLIA, FLIS, and Innovation Stage spatially and conceptually, organisers aim to provide a clearer path for trade delegates.

Attendees will be able to discover cutting-edge solutions, assess their practical readiness, learn from established case studies, and network directly with innovators driving the future of the global fresh produce supply chain.
