Fruit Attraction 2026: IFEMA and FEPEX reveal flourishing findings

Organisers IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX have officially released their post-show findings for Fruit Attraction 2026, confirming an extraordinary, record-breaking edition that underscores the global fruit and vegetable sector’s dynamism.
Marking a 6% increase from the previous year, the 18th edition brought together 128,364 industry professionals from 170 countries, cementing its status as an indispensable global meeting point for the fresh produce industry.
Expanding global reach and international influence
Fruit Attraction 2026 experienced an unprecedented surge in international participation, welcoming professionals from 18 brand-new countries.
Global buyers and suppliers engaged extensively across the exhibition floor, supported by a powerful International Buyers Program driven in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, ICEX, and FEPEX. This initiative successfully gathered 600 major retail, wholesale, and importing decision-makers from 62 countries, with China and the United Arab Emirates participating as guest importing nations.
Economic and employment impact in Madrid
Beyond its commercial achievements, the post-show findings highlight the massive economic footprint left by the event on the host city. Fruit Attraction 2026 generated an estimated 419 million euros for Madrid and created more than 3,100 direct jobs, reinforcing its importance not just as an agricultural showcase, but as a major economic catalyst.
High-impact pre-events and specialised congresses
The record-breaking attendance was mirrored in the strong engagement seen across the fair’s specialised auxiliary events. Notably:
- The 1st International Potato Symposium: organised by FEPEX, Fruit Attraction, and Europatat as the event’s “Star Product” feature, the symposium drew 273 leading professionals to address European trade, plant health, and production challenges.
- The Avocado Congress: gathered 645 key industry attendees to discuss market trends and cultivation strategies.
Looking ahead to 2027
Building on the momentum of this historic edition, organisers have already announced that Fruit Attraction will return for its next instalment from October 5 to 7, 2027, at the IFEMA MADRID fairgrounds, aiming to continue driving international competitiveness, innovation, and partnership across the global value chain.
