Speciality vegetable producer Jack Buck Growers is launching a marketing campaign for chicory on the internet. Ten thousand ABC1 names in the UK will be
receiving a specially designed e-newsletter all about chicory. Full of recipe ideas by TV chef Rachel Green, it is illustrated with award-
winning photographer Michael Powell’s images, and has competitions, information and tips about chicory.
“We want to reach the end-user, explains Simon Howard, marketing controller at Jack Buck Growers.“This will be an exciting monthly communication – for September it’s back to school so we’re getting children involved in cooking. We want people to understand how we can serve them better, while also encouraging them to use chicory in novel ways.
Jack Buck is also launching a new website which features yet more recipes with celeriac as well as chicory. Dishes include Italian red chicory stuffed with capers, black olives and pine nuts, mini caramelised chicory tart tatins and celeriac bubble and squeak rostis.
There are also nutritional facts and hints on celeriac, chicory, fennel, pak choi,
radicchio and artichokes.
