SIG and ALCA remove the need for third-party pre-sterilisation of spouted pouches

The first goods filled on SIG’s next-generation aseptic spouted pouch technology, SIG Prime 55 In-Line Aseptic, which eliminates the requirement for third-party pre-sterilisation of spouted pouches, have been announced by SIG and ALCA Corps.

This ground-breaking invention marks a significant advancement in aseptic pouch technology. ALCA is the first customer globally to introduce products using SIG’s next-generation aseptic spouted pouch filling equipment, the SIG Prime 55 In-Line Aseptic.

SIG has merged High output (up to 55 pouches per minute), lower TCO (in-line sterilisation lowers running costs), and versatility (filling capacities ranging from 30ml to 500ml) are some of the main advantages of the SIG Prime 55 In-Line Aseptic.

With three factories, ALCA brings together more than 60 years of combined expertise in producing aseptic juices and purees. The company exports to over 70 countries and supplies bulk packaging for further processing to leading manufacturers of baby food, beverages, and healthy snacks worldwide.

Building on this legacy, ALCA is broadening its portfolio with the launch of an innovative aseptic pouch featuring SIG’s CloverCap closure. The first products in this format will spotlight the two fruit ingredients, in which the company holds global leadership: banana and MD2 pineapple.

With this new capability, ALCA will also provide co-packing services, enhancing collaboration opportunities with brands around the world.

ALCA is introducing into the market, the first aseptic pouch as a proof of concept, aimed at gathering market feedback. This initiative with new technology will guide the development of new products to open co-packing opportunities for its clients.
