Genesis Bakery and Brennans Bakeries in distribution partnership

Genesis Bakery has entered a new shared distribution partnership with Brennans Bakeries in a move set to significantly expand the reach, resilience and product offering of both businesses across Northern Ireland.

The collaboration brings together two of the region’s best‑known bakery brands to create a more efficient logistics model and improve service levels for retailers.

Under the agreement, Genesis will distribute a selected range of Brennans bread products directly to local retailers, extending access to stores not currently serviced by either business and improving consistency and freshness on shelf. By aligning their route networks, the partnership aims to strengthen availability and streamline delivery operations across the region.

JP Lyttle, commercial and product development director at Genesis Bakery, said the move represents a major win for both retailers and consumers. “This partnership with Brennans Bakeries is great news for retailers and great news for our customers as we are complementing our already extensive range of bread products, cakes and morning goods. By working together, we can optimise our distribution routes, extend our footprint and provide an even more responsive service.”

Images released alongside the announcement show senior representatives from both companies — including Colin Todd, national sales manager at Brennans, and Kingsley Burrows, national sales manager at Genesis — marking the launch of the partnership.

The agreement positions both bakeries to better serve independent retailers, convenience stores and regional chains, while offering shoppers a broader choice of fresh bakery products.

With distribution efficiency becoming increasingly critical in the bakery category, the partnership signals a strategic shift toward shared logistics models designed to boost competitiveness and ensure consistent supply.
