Met Foods joins elite tier of ethical food producers

The producer behind award-winning dairy-free brands Cocos Organic and Nush Protein has officially achieved B Corp Certification, formalising its position as a leader in the UK’s sustainable food and drink sector.
For Met Foods, the certification is the culmination of a multi-year effort to align its operational framework with the highest global standards of social and environmental impact.
The company now joins a prestigious community of over 2,600 UK-based B Corps — the fastest-growing B Corp market in the world — alongside industry heavyweights like Innocent Drinks and Tony’s Chocolonely.
While Met Foods has long been recognised for its plant-based innovation, B Corp status required the business to move beyond “sustainable products” and focus on “sustainable operations.”
The business achieved certification by undergoing a rigorous audit by B Lab, which measured performance across five key pillars: governance, workers, community, environment, and customers.
Met Foods’ certification provides a verified “green” credential that simplifies the procurement process. As consumers increasingly demand transparency, B Corp status acts as a third-party seal of approval that the brand’s ethical claims are backed by audited data.
Bethany Eaton, founder & CEO of Met Foods, commented: “Sustainability has always been at the heart of what we do, and becoming B Corp certified formalises our commitment to transparency and integrity. It reflects the values we’ve championed since day one, and I’m excited to welcome this new chapter for Met Foods.”
The certification of Met Foods is seen as a win for the UK’s dairy-alternative category, which has faced increasing scrutiny regarding sourcing and packaging. By meeting the B Corp standard, Met Foods proves that high-volume production can coexist with ethical stewardship.
Chris Turner, CEO of B Lab UK, added: “We are delighted to welcome Met Foods. This is a movement of companies committed to changing how business operates. Met Foods is a fantastic addition that will continue driving the conversation forward on business as a force for good.”
Met Foods’ certification comes at a time of significant growth for the business, following the recent success of its Nush Protein range and the continued expansion of Cocos Organic in major retailers.
