Svedka Vodka Water is the world's first transparent canned vodka water

Svedka Vodka is tearing down the walls of the ready-to-drink (RTD) market with the launch of Svedka Vodka Water — the world’s first transparent canned vodka water.

Rolling out nationwide this June, the category-first innovation aims to rewrite the rules of summer refreshment by trading traditional opaque aluminium for a completely clear can format.

The new product features a blend of real vodka, purified water, and crisp fruit flavours available in four initial varieties: Strawberry, Peach, Lime, and Pineapple.

Behind the clear choice

Svedka says its move to a transparent package is a direct response to an evolution in modern drinking habits. Today’s consumers are increasingly mindful of what they consume and are actively demanding both visual and nutritional honesty from spirit brands.

By using a fully transparent can, Svedka gives drinkers an immediate visual confirmation that matches the clean profile of the liquid inside. The product has been strategically developed to target three major consumer shifts:

  • The demand for pure transparency: the clear packaging removes the mystery of the traditional RTD can, letting consumers see exactly what they are getting: a simple, pure liquid.
  • A “zero bubbles” alternative: while the carbonated hard seltzer boom dominated previous years, a growing subset of consumers wants a sessionable beverage without the bloating associated with carbonation. Svedka Vodka Water delivers zero bubbles.
  • Nutritional mindfulness: the drink caters directly to health-conscious lifestyles, boasting just 100 calories, zero sugar, and zero carbohydrates per serving.

Vodka Water 2.0

The brand views the release as a modern upgrade to a classic bar staple, designed to fit seamlessly into casual social occasions, outdoor events, and everyday moments without sacrificing flavour or fun.

David Binder, senior brand director at Svedka, explained the strategic consumer logic driving the new release: “Consumers are redefining what they want from drinking occasions. They want options that fit seamlessly into their lives without sacrificing flavour or fun.

“Svedka Vodka Water is our answer to that shift. It’s Vodka Water 2.0: a new take on a classic combination that raises the bar on both taste and transparency, delivering a cleaner, more effortless way to drink this summer in the category’s first completely clear can.”

Binder further stressed the importance of the packaging’s visual communication: “Svedka has always embraced what’s next, and with Svedka Vodka Water, we’re bringing that same spirit of innovation to a category ready for a clear difference. Our latest ad brings the Svedbot world to life, with the transparent can giving consumers an immediate visual cue for exactly what they’re getting — something simple and clean in every sip.”

Availability & distribution

The new product line will be supported by a major marketing campaign launching later this month, including digital pushes across YouTube and Meta platforms. Svedka Vodka Water will be available year-round in convenient 8-pack variety multipacks as well as standalone 12-ounce single cans.
