Gourmet chocolate firm going with the flow

An artisan confectionery company producing handmade chocolates and treats says it has boosted production after upgrading its packing process by investing in a horizontal flow wrapper.

Nottingham-based Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Co produces novelty gift ideas in chocolate, targeting the high street and corporate sector, with a variety of flavours and sizes. In order to cope with growing demand, it approached ULMA Packaging for advice on the appropriate equipment in which it should be investing.

ULMA recommended a high-speed FR200 horizontal flow wrapper for creating pillow packs.

Faster throughput and ease of use are just some of the advantages of using the new equipment, according to Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Co’s director and founder, Helen Ellis.

“I’m very pleased with the performance of the equipment and we’re not even using it to its full capacity yet,” she says. “The machine gives us exactly what we wanted – a faster process to market and protection of our products.”
