SGS offers a free webinar for professionals in food contact quality and regulatory compliance

SGS will host a complimentary webinar, ‘Beyond food contact materials regulation’, on March 26, 2024.

Harmful substances such as bisphenol A (BPA) and bisphenols may be found in the equipment used in food processing, in packaging or in the items used to make, store, cook and eat food. With changes in regulatory requirements for food contact materials (FCM) and equipment, and variations across borders, businesses can find it challenging to maintain up-to-date knowledge of vital safety standards.

This webinar looks in depth at two major markets, the EU and the US, giving attendees expert insight into regulatory developments. The proposed EU ban on BPA and bisphenols in FCM and equipment will be explored, as well as general and specific measures for the EU. In the US, Federal Drug Administration and state/local requirements will be covered, including chemical disclosure programs for children’s products and the use of BPA and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in FCM and articles.

Led by hardlines specialist Dr Hing Wo Tsang, the webinar is aimed at food contact quality and regulatory compliance professionals for EU and US markets.
