Wellness brand Humantra, renowned for its top-notch electrolyte formulations, has been introduced into more than 1,200 Boots locations across the country and online.

The brand considers it a significant step in its goal to reinvent hydration for the contemporary, everyday customer as it is the first time that its goods will be offered by a UK shop.

Founded in Dubai in 2022 by British entrepreneur, Charlie Wright, Humantra has experienced rapid growth since its launch, quickly becoming a cult favourite on the wellness scene for its novel approach to hydration.

To mark its launch into Boots stores and online, and help tackle the UK’s issue with dehydration, Humantra has teamed up with registered nutritionist, Clarissa Lenherr to release its inaugural Humantra Hydration Report. The report draws on comprehensive data gathered from 2,000 adults across the UK, to explore the extent of the nation’s understanding of hydration and electrolytes – from how many people now take them and people’s drivers and barriers to using them, to the misconceptions that surround them.

According to the report, there is a growing thirst for electrolytes in the UK, particularly amongst younger generations, with higher consumption rates in London. A quarter (24%) of UK adults now take electrolytes regularly, with usage biggest amongst 18-34 year olds – almost half (45%) of whom take them regularly. While usage of electrolytes is biggest in London – 41% of the capital’s residents take them regularly.

However, while usage is on the rise, the report has also revealed a huge knowledge gap around electrolytes, not only amongst those who don’t take them, but also amongst those that do, with many wrongly believing they’re only beneficial to those who do intense exercise, or are hungover or ill.

Humantra aims to flip the existing narrative on electrolytes – through educating people across the UK, of all ages, on the benefits that daily electrolyte consumption can have on everyone – not just those who partake in exercise, or are hungover or ill.

Charlie Wright, founder of Humantra, noted how millions of people across the UK are chronically dehydrated – yet many people don’t even realise that they are, or know the importance of staying hydrated for their bodies to function properly.

“The hydration category is traditionally associated with workouts and recovery,” Wright said. “We know from our own research that there is a general perception in the UK that electrolytes are just for those who have done intense exercise, or are ill or hungover.

“Hydration isn’t a niche fix—it’s a universal foundation for how we feel, think, and perform. Everyone deserves to thrive, not just survive, and that starts with making optimal hydration a daily habit. With this Boots launch, we’re doubling down on our mission to make great-tasting, effective electrolytes accessible to all—because they’re not just for athletes, they’re for life.”

Registered nutritionist, Clarissa Lenherr explained that hydration isn’t just about how much water you drink. It’s also about how well your body holds onto that water, and that’s where electrolytes come in. Often seen as something only athletes or the unwell need, electrolytes are actually essential for everyone.

“Electrolytes, minerals like sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium, help regulate fluid balance, support nerve and muscle function, and keep our cells working efficiently,” Lenherr added. “When these aren’t in the right balance, even mild dehydration can lead to symptoms like fatigue, headaches, low mood, and dizziness.

The Humantra Hydration Report shows that millions of people in the UK are unknowingly dehydrated. That daily sluggishness or 3 pm energy dip could be your fluid balance, not just your sleep or stress levels.

Not all electrolytes are suitable for everyday consumption, however Humantra is purposefully crafted to support daily hydration, not just recovery post-exercise. Unlike many electrolyte products that prioritise high sodium content for rapid rehydration, its formula includes all six essential electrolytes – sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, chloride, and phosphate – in a thoughtfully balanced ratio. It’s a smart and balanced way to support your energy, focus, and wellbeing, whatever your day looks like.”

Humantra is now available to purchase via the Boots website, or in over 1,200 Boots stores nationwide, priced at £16.00 per pack of 15 – available in Lychee, Berry Pomegranate and Himalayan Lime flavours.  The wider product range can be purchased via Humantra.
